The Governor-General and Lady Galway, attended by members of their staff, visited the Wellington Golf Club's links on Saturday afternoon and played golf.

Their Excellencies will pay their first official visit to Auckland immediately after Easter, leaving Wellington on the evening of April 23 and returning on the morning of the 26th.
The Minister of Employment (the Hon. S. G, Smith) left for Auckland last evening. ■

The death is reported in « Press Association message from .Christchurch of Mr. George Bowron, aged 77, head of the firm of G. L, Bowron and Company. He was a very prominent worker for the Methodist Church, being treasurer to the Methodist Orphanage Board and a generous contributor to the Church funds.
