MELBOURNE, April 14.

The Japanese freighter Mansei Maru, laden with wheat and wool, was aground for two hours in the channel oil Williamstown during "a fierce southerly gale on Friday and yesterday. The vessel was released after a battle by two tugs.

A fishing ketch was clashed to pieces and jetties and foreshores damaged.
