LIGHTS ON HUTT ROAD
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—Recently a correspondent in your columns drew attention ,to the need for uniform lighting of the central pillars on the Hutt Road. The new railway overhead bridge pillar .is adequately illuminated and ~ the red flashing light identifies it as a danger spot to be avoided by traffic.» ,At pre.sent the old railway bridge carries only an' ordinary white ,«. ligb.t and whilst city motorists "may,, be well aware of the position the difference in lighting is confusing to visitors. In bad weather conditions the existing white light may be mistaken for another suspended road light with disas--trqus results to the victim. The cost, of an alteration to conform with the1 hew light should be trifling and I hope the uniformity will be established be-, fore the rough weather comes.—l am,1 etc., . i
