LAMB IN OVER SUPPLY.
The Bank of Xew Zealand, produce department, has; received the following advice from its London oftice as at close of business this week:—The market tor wethers is very auiet, and there is little business doing. The market for ewes is steady. There- is a good demand for lambs, but the market is over-supplied and prices are affected in - consequence. There is a fair demand for beef. .Wethers, light 3,5-Sd to 5d per lb, heavy _ 3'Adi to 3Vbd; ewes, 2V4d to 3%d; lambs. 2 s 6 3-8U to oUd, B's 6 3-8 dto Mi, 4's 6'/ 2 cll to 0 5-Sd, seconds 6d to 6%d: ox hinds, 3Vid to 3%d, fores 2'/jd to',2%d. . . Levin and Co., Ltd., have received ths following cable, from their London agents, dated April 12:—Frozen, meat guotalions arc unaltered. Market steady this week.
