ALLEGED MURDER

MAORI REMANDED AGAIN

Jack Ngapaki, of Patea, charged with murder, appeared in the Police Court this morning on remand. DetectiveSergeant Revell asked for a further remand till April 18. Mr. J. H. Luxford, S.M., made the remand upon Mr. F. S. Roberts, of Patea, consenting on behalf of Ngapaki. Mr. Roberts said that the accused had been taken from Patea before he had had the opportunity of obtaining legal advice. He asked that opportunity be given him to confer with the accused.

Mr. Luxford suggested that counsel could obtain instructions and get contact with the accused through counsel's Wellington agents. Detective Revell said an opportunity could be given to counsel to confer with the accused today.

Ngapaki is charged with the murder of Dan Hauora at Opaku, near Patea, on March 25 last. .
