WAKATIPU'S RECENT WINS
The New Zealand-bred Wakatipu (Paper Money—Philomela) is credited with being nearly the best horse racing at' Scrota African meetings up to six furlongs. On New Year's Day he finished brilliantly under B.G at Cape Town to defeat the lightly-weighted Masterpiece (6.7) over five furlongs. He also won two races in December, one at a mile and the other at five furlongs.
According to latest exchanges from Enjf" land the unbeaten French colt Brantome* now four years old, is already .a short* priced favourite for this year's Ascot Gold Cup, with the Aga Khan's Felicitation second favourite. This "even though thert is no certainty yet that Brantome will b« sent across to England.
