L. J. ELLIS'S POINT LEAD
The contest for the Netv Zealand jockeys' premiership hasnbw reached an interesting stage, with L. J. Ellis, 56, leading by only one point from W. J. Broughton, 55. During the past week Ellis had one win at Gore, but Broughton had one success at Woodville, four at Te Aroha, and one at Opunake. K. Voitre, now in Australia, is third with 34, and P. S. Atkins is fourth, with 29.
