WHEAT FROM AUSTRALIA

With fourteen windjammers in South Australian outports loading wheat, the stage is set for another of the long ocean races which take place every year between South Australia and Europe, writes a Sydney correspondent under the date February 14. Three vessels have yet to arrive—Parma, Winterhude, and Viking. Three have already sailed—Abraham Kydberg, Herzogin Cecilie, and L'Avenir, and three of the 14 in port are awaiting orders. The approximate tonnages of the wheat cargoes taken by those which have already, sailed and those which are now loading are:—Abraham Rydberg, 3260 tons; Herzogin Cecilie, 3280 tons; L'Avenir, 3600 tons; Archibald Russell (at Port Victoria), 2600 tons; Passat (at Port Victoria), 4350 tons; Padua (at Port Victoria), 4250 tons; Grace Harwar (at Port Victoria), 2900 tons; Lawhill (at Wallaroo), 4250 tons; tons; Pommern (at' Port Germein), 3650 tons; Killoran (at Port Germein), 2900 tons'; Lawhill (at Wallaroo), 4250 tons; Penang (at Wallaroo), 3000 tons; Magdalene Vinnen (at Port Lincoln), 5100 tons; Olivebank (at Port Lincoln), 4100 tons. The other six windjammers which are awaiting orders or are on the way to South Australia can carry more than 20,000 tons of wheat . between them, so that if they obtain good cargoes the total amount of wheat to be taken abroad by the winged fleet this year will be about 62,490 tons. This season the C. B. Pedersen will go to Melbourne instead of to South Australia for her cargo.
