Shares to the value of £S3ll were al-, lotted at a meeting of the provisional directors of the South Canterbury Tottery and Mining Co., Ltd. The chairman, Mr. C. L. Orbell, expressed pleasure at the successful flotation of. the company. It-was decided to call for tenders for the alteration of the iniUding in Timaru. The chairman, said that "it would be in the interests of shareholders that production, should, begin as'soon'as possible. Air. U. i[. Clements was appointed general' manager of tlie company.'
