The fire brigade demonstrations were continued this morning in ideal weather, which later turned to heat. Results were:— • Four Men Hose and Reel Event— Carterton, 47 2-ssec (16 shield points), 1- Greymouth, 50 4-ssec (12J points), 2; Te Kuiti, 51 4-ssec (9i- points), 3; Petone, 53see (6J points), 4; Whangarei, 53 3-ssec (5 points), 5; Lyttelton, 54 4-ssec (3J points), 6. Four Men Motor Event.—Petone, 51 4-ssec (16 shield points), 1; Waipukurau, 56 l-ssec (12J points), 2; Carterton, 58sec (9£.points), 3; Hawera and Dannevirke, 59 l-ssec (52 points), equal, 4; Lower Hutt, 60sec (3i points), 6. With eight events complete for the aggregate trophies the leading teams are as follows: —
Championship Shield. — Carterton, 72 i points; Petone, 65J; Hawera, 42J; Greymouth, 285; Gore, 27.
Manual Shield.—Petone, 23 points; Hawera, 20J; Rotorua, 14; Carterton, 11; Hastings, 10, High Pressure Shield.—Carterton, 68£ points; Petone, 63J; Hawera, 391; Greymouth, 28i; Gore, 27.
Men Motor-dressing Event.—Hawera, 30sec, 1; Petone, 31sec, 2; Carterton, 36 3-ssec, 3; Whangarei and Te Awamutu, 37 3-ssec, 4, equal; Otorohanga, 41sec, 6. ' Nineteen teams started. Gore, Taumarunui, Tapanui, and Hanmer were disqualified for various reasons.
