Sir,—ln your paper for Thursday there is a very interesting analysis o£ proposals by the Anglican Church in the Old Country to deal with the problem of poverty amidst plenty. There are three of these. The second is to increase employment—to provide more work. Incidentally, this is described as approximating to the ideas of the Socialists. The third is to provide income over and above wages, which inevitably decrease as the machine and science displace labour. May I say that so far as, the New Zealand Labour Party is concerned, the third proposal approximates far more nearly to our policy than does proposal number two. —I am, etc.,
