PICNIC AT EASTBOURNE
The combined Hutt \allcy local bodies held their annual picnic on Wednesday at Day's Bay. About 150 people attended, and a most enjoyable day was spent. A well-conducted sports programme *ftb arranged, and the prizes were keenly contested.

Tennis (Mixed Doubles).—The Local Bodies' Challenge Cup was won by Lower Hutt Borough Council (Miss Martin and G. Hogg). . At afternoon tea th,e Mayoress of Lower Hutt, Mrs. J.. W. Andrews, presented the prizes to the winning competitors. Among the visitors present were the Mayor and Mayoress of Lower Hutt, the Mayor of Eastbourne, Mr. J. Brassell (River Board), and Mr. E. Hogg (Pctone Council).
