CHHISTCHURCH, This Day.

The official opening of radio station ZL3 H2, owned and operated by the North Beach Rover Scout crew, took place last evening, in the. presence of Colonel Granville Walton, representing Imperial headquarters. ■ To the North Beach Tro.op falls the honour of being the first troop in the British Empire to own its own short-wave receiving and transmitting apparatus. It is also believed to be the first scoutoperated station in the world. The station cost £60, and themonsy was raised by the Scouts. The transmitter works on 80 metres. '
