USpeoial to the "Evening Post.") PALMEKSTON N., This Day. The Mmerston North Hospital Board is faced with an expenditure of £40,000 to provide for additional accommodation which the chairman (Mr. <T. K. Hornblow) informed yesterday's meeting of the board is urgently needed; The hospital was overcrowded, he said, and eveu £40,000 would only be sufficient for. the nest eight years. He was afraid the board had been too parsimonious in the past as reyards its capital expenditure, with the result that the hospital had fallen behind. It was decided to go into the whole question at a special meeting, but meanwhile the secretary was empowered to secure estimates for certafh essential repairs to the present buildings.
