PRICES FIRM IN SYDNEY
(By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright.) SYDNEY, February 11. At the wool sales 11,187 bales were offered'and 9335 sold, 744 privately. There was good competition, chiefly from Japan and Yorkshire, with good support from the Continent. Prices were firm, at closing rates of last week. All good wools sold readily, but doubtful yielding lines were irregular,. . Greasy merino sold to IGd. The average price -last week was £12 7s 2d a bale, or 9.8 d a pound. WELLINGTON SALES. Wellington February wool sale .begins at.9 a.m. tomorrow at the TowniHall. The catalogue to be submitted will be about 27,700 bales. A large attendance-of buyers is, expected and competition is likely to' be keen at current rates.
