A wireless. message received from the cruiser Australia today says that frequent distress signals had been received from the four-masted American schooner Seth Parker, and the Australia, with the Duke of Gloucester aboard, was steaming through rough seas at 20 knots to her assistance. The Seth Parker, which is on a world tour, with 14 persons aboard, was reported to be in danger of sinking south of the Cook group. The Australia expected to reach the battered vessel at noon." , A message from San Francisco states that according to the latest radio word the cruiser Australia was rushing to aid the Seth Parker, reported to be in distress on the high'seas 300 miles north of Tahiti. The Australia was reported to be about 200 .miles from the Seth Parker when the call for assistance was sounded, early on Saturday. Later the schooner reported "Everything 0.X.," but added the cryptic note, 'the owner didn't think so." ' There was then no indication that the Australia had abandoned the rescue. The schooner is under charter of Phillips Lord, the radio entertainer, and is equipped to transmit regular programmes to America 'while on her round-the-world cruise. According to a late message from San Francisco, the Se.th Parker wirelessed H.M.A.S. Australia last night that the immediate danger had passed, and that she was proceeding to Pago Pago, and the Australia swung back on. her -own course after giving the schooner further advice about weather prospects.
