MR. J. LI H.; LEDGER
The death occurred today, at hU. residence in Tanera Crescent, Brooklyn, of John Louis. Hickson Ledger, aged 71, formerly. Controller, of the Money Order, Office and Post Office Savings Bank. '
, Mr. Ledger joine.d the '"Post1 and Telegraph Department:. as' a cadet at head'i office, Wellington, on : February 26,' 1877. .He had the rather unique experience of serving -.the vwhole of his I official career in ■ the -one.' ofiic^. In 1881 he "was: appointed- to a. clerkship, and.;in December, 1895, took up the position of second' clerk ;in .the accountants' .. branch. He loccupied that posi-tion-until April,;l9Qo, when> ,:He was appointed first clerk. Seven years later- he: became, Assistant Controller of, the Money Order Omce "and Savings Bank, and he held that position until his retirement on superannuation !in^February,l9l7. . ''■'':'■ '
