Alphonse Stephani, who died in a criminal insane asylum to which he was committed for the murder of his attorney, increased .his £10,000 fortune to £50,000 at the time of'his death by directing stock market operations from the asylum. '■ ■" "
Embittered towards America, he left a will ordering all funds to go to Germany, adding: "Under no, consideration is any American to benefit hereunder." ;
His cousin, Baron Frederick 'Stephani, a war ace and noyv a screen writer at Hollywood, claims a share of the estate.
