M.P. ASKED TO RESIGN

LONDON, January 12.
Following a private" meeting of the Rutherglen . (Lanark) Divisional Unionist 'Association the following official statement was issued:—
"After full consideration it was unanimously decided' to adopt the executive committee's -recommendation that Captain Moss was no longer able to be regarded as ,a fit arid proper person to represent the Division in Parliament, and. that this meeting calls on him to resign his seat, and.asks the committee to take steps to: secure a I suitable candidate."
Captain H. J. Moss, M.P., was one of five people charged with contravention of the -Lotteries Act in connection with the Modern School of, Art Union Cesarewitch Draw. He was fined ' £50 or three months' imprisonment at the Glasgow Sheriff Court. Fines were imposed on three'other persons, and a woman defendant was admonished.
Captain Moss has intimated that he will not resign. In the meantime he is taking steps to clear himself from the serious .suggestions made by the Glasgow Sheriff.'-
