The ladies' championship resulted in a comfortable win for Miss S. Campbell. She kept on even terms with the field over the first length, but after the turn she soon took the lead to win eventually by a good margin. Miss Pritchard finished strongly to gain second honours from Miss Waller, the latter making a creditable first appearance, as also did Miss Gotlieb,1 even though unplaced.
The divers gave a better display than that of last year, but the standard was not high. The three competitors were probably at a disadvantage in that': they had 'had little opportunity for practising on the boards (they all train at the Hutt Baths), and in consequence some -of their efforts were astray. Tuppin retained his title after a close contest with Tremewan, but the latter looks most likely to improve, as does also Liver, who made some fairly good attempts at the more difficult dives.
