WEDDINGS

VAN ASCH—DAVIDSON

The wedding of Sophie Elizabeth only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stather Davidson, to Derek William, second son of Mrs. W. Van Asch and the late Mr. Van Asqh, Havelock r*orth, took place recently at "Woodcroft," Havelock North, the home of the bride's paicnts. The Rev. R. B. Waugh officiated.

The bride, escorted hy her lather, wore a graceful gown of ivory chiffon velvet cut on long-fitting lines the skirt flaring into a satin-lined train The bodice had a cowl neck and long sleeves, and she wore a veil of Limerick, lace and carried a shower bouquet of lilies, roses, and delphiniums. Her five bridesmaids, Misses Hester Hawkins, Mary Van Asch, Marion Pres-ton-Thomas, Nancy Van Asch, and Noel Hawkins, wore starched muslin, flowered in blue and pink, and blue wreaths of flowers on their heads.

Mr. Piet Van Asch was best man, and the groomsmen were Messrs Eric Wayne, Ivan Van Asch, John yon Dadelszen, and Robert Wayne. Mrs Davidson received her guests wearing a frock of black georgette and black Bangkok straw hat. Mrs Van Asch's frock was of black ripple georgette and she wore a black hat: The bride travelled in a blue floral frock, fawn coat, and leghorn straw hat.
