MR. TAMA PARATA

OTAKI,-This Day.
The death occurred at the Palmerston North hospital on Tuesday afternoon of Mr. Tama Parata, second son lof the late Mr. Hira Parata, of Waikanae. The 'deceased, who was only 127 years of age, was one' of .the best--1 known footballers in the Horowhenua 1 district, and on several occasions gain,cd representative honours, establishing a record of which any one might Ibe proud. The late Mr. Parata also I represented Manawhenua when the Ranfurly Shield was won, 'and was a leading member of the Maori team. 1 Mr. Parata was born at Waikanae, and received his education at the Maori Agricultural College, Hawke's ' Bay. He married Miss Heremia, of 1 Levin, and leaves a daughter and son. The late Mr. Parata, who also leaves five brothers and two sisters, had been in indifferent health for some months, .never properly recovering from an 1 internal injury received at football I some time ago. ,
