: Large developments in telephone and other services of the.Post Office are foreshadowed by a financial resolution on today's; Order Paper of the House of Commons, providing. for additional capital expenditure of about £34,000,000. .-•'■■ v ;, ~
Nearly £10,000,000 of .this.will be devoted to the further development next year of telephone'services. ,
,The increase in estimated expenditure is due partly to the recovery in trade and industry and partly to the remarkably large increase in' subscribers and traffic which have resulted from the recent reduction in rates.
