MEETING AT PALMERSTON

PALMERSTON N., This Day. Messrs. R. McKeen, ,M.P. fpr Wellington South, arid. R. Semple, M.P. for Wellington East,- were accorded a good reception in Palmerston North last evening, when they, spoke on political matters as viewed by .the Labour Party. Mr. McKeen confined, his remarks, to. the causes of the present economic ' situation and Labour's t remedy, while Mr. S.emple dealt at length,with the" report" on the Native | Affairs Department.
I The following .motion by Mr. Wil'Ham Thompson, convener of the meeting, was carried: "That this meeting of Palmerstbn North citizens has learned with resentment and indignation of the | way in which New Zealand shipping is being destroyed by a foreign company, and it is also most resentful and indignant at the inconceivably apathetic, careless, and cowardly action of the [Government in permitting it."
