STEADY IN WAIRARAPA
(Special to the "Evening Post.")
MASTERTON, This Day.
After threatening weather throughout the day, more or less steady rain set in early last e'veningl During the day there were one or two brisk showers- Of, short duration, and there was much speculation as to whether Masterton would receive any benefit from the change, which set in from the east. Just.after 7 o'clock, however, steady rain- started to fall, and although it was not very heavy, it was sufficient to give some measure of relief to ■ the depleted water supplies in .the country districts. The.pastures require a really drenching rain' before much benefit will result.. ,•...,''. ■
. One of the most pleasant features of the change in the weather was the drop in the temperature, which on Monday, reached. 91.2. degrees, the highest recorded.this season.,
