COURT'S DIGNITY OFFENDED
(Received February 7, 11 ajn.)
ADELAIDE, This Day. When the. criminal sessions of the first Supreme Court of the Northern Territory opened at' Alice Springs, a few. members of the jury arrived in, court coatless. The Judge (Mr. Justice Wells) immediately ordered them to' leave the court and obtain coats. • It was then found that some of the jurymen had not possessed : coats ion several years. The dignity of the Court was upheld, however, for these men succeeded in borrowing clothing from acquaintances. Thus arrayed they re. turned to do their duty. One juryman pleaded .that he was unpunctual because he was the town's iceman. The Judge fined him £3. ■*••■ '
