ESPERANTO CLUB
The Wellington Esperanto Club, under the presidency of Mr, Vernon J. Leek, opened its 1935 season on Tuesday in the V.M.C.A. The president, in welcoming old and new members, referred to the great strides which Esperanto was making in/all parts of/the world. ? .*'■: '

King, D.B.E.AV secretary; o£ the New Zealand Esperanto Association, extended greetings to the club on behalf of the N.Z.E.A., and announced that the seventh New Zealand Esperanto Congress would take place in WanganuL ...After the enrolment of new members, ■classes were organised under the guidance ot>/several experienced teachers, after whicix a quarter -of an botir'e break occurredfja the proceedings for, th? purpose of allowing members : !,to move, fr^om group to group ; and exchange } conversation in Esperanto. At the conclusion an entertaining programmers presented. Mr. P. Dahl opened the proceedings with a pianoforte number, the Ynemßers joining in an Esperanto chorus. 'Miss Coralie Smythson, D.BiE.A., gave a talk it\ Esperanto oir'TJa Valoro de Internacia Eorespondado."- Mr. Blong entertained the members with'ja talk in Esperanto on his experiences' ;ih Auckland during the holidays. Miss AlicePhillips recited in Esperanto the poem "Penso." The concluding item was an original humorous monologue iv Esperanto presented by Mr. Bertram Potta, F.8.E.A., entitled "S-ro Hunky-Dory Pa'rolaa Prl Waterloo." .
