PICNICS
The picnic held recently at Jlaori Bank by the staff of Whitcombe and Tombs, Ltd., was- voted an outstanding. success by the many who attended. The weather was perfect, and the Hutt River was extremely popular. A sports programme was run off, with the following results:—looyds men's championship, Thomas 1, Blair 2; 75yds ladies' championship, Miss Dwyer 1, Miss Dunne 2; whistling race, Mr. and Mrs. R. Thomas; apprentices' race, Wildey 1, Hancox 2; ladies'.inter-departmental- relay. Machine Room 1; Bindery 2; 100 yds open handicap, Sutherland 1, Gollop 2; married ladies, Mrs. Thomas 1, Mrs. Baker 2; married men, B. A. Berry ]. L. G. Davison, 2; three-legged rnce, H. Thomson and Miss Dunne 1, R. Houghton and J, Wallace 2; boot racs, Shaw 1, Hancos 2; men's inter-departmental relay. Bindery Room 2. Mrs. L. G. Davison presented the prizes, and Mr. C.
