The English women cricketers made an ■ excellent start against Canterbury in the match which was commenced this morning. The conditions are ideal. By 12.15 p.m.,,Erigland had made 159 for the loss of only three wickets, and had given a very,-bright display. The Canterbury-bowling did not cause the visitors a great deal of trouble, but good fielding' saved many runs.
