AID FOR GERMANS
The sum of £4,000,000 in cash was contributed towards the German winter relief fund within-two months. Germans in China, India, Morocco, Mexico, Africa, America, and Soviet Russia, and sailors on tho high seas,- have given considerable sums.- The value of the contributions in kind • amounted , to £3,580,000, almost- all of,.which ;^s -accounted for by gifts of food-and clothing. Five and a half million cwt of potatoes, 390,000cwt of grain,' 26,000cwt of vegetables, and 74,000 eggs were presented by co,untry people. ', From all classes have come 253,000 pairs of shoes, 157,000 coats, and 41,000 suits.
