PALMERSTON N., This Day. In' returning a verdict of accidental death when inquiring how a Maori boy named Tawheta Winiata lost his life near Levin- on January 16, the Coroner (Mr. A. Fraser) stated that the case confirmed his opinion that a rule should be enforced that pedestrians should use' the right-hand side of country roads.

. The evidence showed that a motorist, Mr. J. G. Etheridge, of Napier, w.as. passing another car at 10 p.m. when the boy loomed up under the car lamps. He swerved, but was too late to avoid running the lad down. The evidence ■ also showed that the boy was-wearing black clothing.
