WEDDINGS
- STACE—SHAND. Tho wedding of Olive Jean, the younger daughter of/Mr. and Mrs." J. P. Shand, of Wellington, and Harry Morton, the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs: H. Stace, of Woodville, was solemnised at the Trinity Mothodist Church, Wei- 1 lington South, recently. Tho Rev. -Brain-' well Scott officiated, Miss Thawley play-J ing tho wedding; music. The' bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a model gown of ivory ring velvet, fashioned on slender lines. The bodice was, cut high in front and softened with a cowl noekline, fastened with a diamante clasp. The skirt flared gracefully into a train, over which fell her long veil of parchment hand em-, bi-bidered tulle, held in place by a halo: of orange blossom. She carried a sheaf of St. Joseph lilies. In attendance was Miss Joan Shand,. niece of the bride, who woro a slightly trained frock of duck egg bluo laco and a large picture- hat of tulle.and laco to tone. She carrio'd a .shoaf of apricot gladioli. The flower girl, little Eugene. Shand, woro a frock 'of apricot lace and a Dolly, Vardon hat, and carried a posy of apri- | cot carnations. Mr, Gavin Wardrop was Best man. ■ A reception was held in the Church i Schoolroom, the bride's mother wear-] I ing a: gown of black and whit© crepe do chine, black .swagger coat, and a black bat. She carried a posy of violet sweet peas. Tho bridegroom's mother wore a gown of floral georgette with hat to "tone, and carried pink carnations. Later Mr. and Mrs. Stace left for a tour of tho North Island, the brido ■ travelling in a • sage green on-; semble, and leghorn hat. |
