AUSTRALIAN TITLES I TARIS WINS THE MILE SYDNEY, January 26. . ■ The Australian swimming championships were continued toda/, the principal results being:— One Mile Free Style.—Taris (France) 1, Herford (New South Wales) 2, Farcy (New South Wales) 3. Won by ten yards, with 200 yards between, second and third. Time, 22 mm 51 4-ssec. Vockler, the Victorian champion, withdrew because of cramp at the 550 yards, leaving Farcy third at the 1100 yards. Herford decreased Taris's lead to seven yards, but Taris went away. Eerford made a gallant finish. 100 yds Breaststroke.—Kwok Chun Hang (China) 1, Houston (Melbourne) 2, Coomties (Melbourne) 3., Won easily. Time, lmin 15sec. Invitation 110yds.—Fleming (Queensland) 1, Sakagami (Japan) 2, Nankivell (Western Australia), S. Time, lmin 3 3-ssec.
