MANY CAPSIZES TWO RACES POSTPONED . .Thrills in plenty were experienced by competitors in the yacht races for the Inter-Club Cup (for 14-footers)': and. the Idle-Along Championship in Evans -Bay yesterday. Because , of. heavy weather the-races were postponed from Saturday afternoon, but yesterday's wind was even stronger and conditions were mbre difficult. ' ~•...' The Duncan Cup race for ,-Takapunas, and the Tauranga Cup race, were ■, again postponed yesterday, after competitors in the latter class had completed one. round, with several capsizes. Nine boats faced the starter for the Inter-Club Cup, and only three finished, the others either capsizing or having to withdraw for some other reason. Last year's winner, Kotare, slowly but surely worked into the leading position, only to have her jib blow out near the finishing line so that "Tassie, with spinnaker set, passed her almost on the post. Only eight of- the--, eighteen jtarterß in the ■ Idle-Along race ■ lasted ,the distance. Steadily • sailed, Mayfair led all; the way and had an easy win. . Capslies. were frequent.
