General Motors A 59 (Pegler 24 not out) and five wickets for 99 (Wellington 36 not out, Laracy 31, Love 22) beat Empire 48 (J. May 22 not out). Bowling for General Motors A, Wellington took six wickets for 21, Dibley three for 17; for Empire, Wood took four for 41, Richardson three for 20, Philp four for 33. Meadows 79 (T. Langford not out 31) and 93 for three (J. Halligan 43) beat Metters United 113 (A. Chudleigh 31, A. Blair 41) and 57 for none, declared (Blair 31 not out, A. Chudleigh 23 not out). Bowling for Meadows, C. Langford took four for 18 and H. Jones three for 49; for Metters, A. Chudleigh captured six for 39, and G. Brown two for 2 and three for 14. • B Grade. Gear 05 (August 21) and 165 for seven wickets (F. Ashton 84, August 21, Foote 20) beat Taita A 64. Bowling for Gear, E. Smith took seven wickets for 41, Martin two for 3; for Taita, Cullimore took four Waiwhetu 76 and seven wickets for 78 (Strayne 28 not out) beat Central 54. Bowling for Waiwhetu, Futter took three for 17. Beagle five for 10; for Central, Wilson took five for 12 and two for 13, Keown two for 6 and five for 24. Gracefield 125 (Douglas 38) beat General Motors C 66. ' Bowling for Gracefield, Cate took three for 14, Gosper two for 20* Henshaw two for 9, Spence two for 15; for General Motors, Lockyer secured four for 44 and McGregor five for 47.
