FINAL DAY AT RACES
FROCKING/AND WEATHER There was a largo crowd at the final day of the Wellington Racing Club's Summer Meeting, which proved most enjoyable, although there was considerable wind. .The sun shone brightly, and the course looked a picture, freshened as it had been by the heavy rain on Thursday. There were fewer picture frocks worn than on Tuesday, ensembles being much in evidence, while blue, in its many shades, was the favourite colour. Throughout the day, the Port Nicholson Silver Band played enjoyable music,' while the commissionaires, who had been on ■ duty for the three days, did excellent service. Mr. Eric Biddiford and Mrs. Riddiford (the- lattor wearing a smart ensemble of delphinium blue and white spotted marocain, and natural straw hat with blue band) entertained the following guests "at luncheons—The Hon. S. G. and Mrs. "Smith, Lady Young, Miss Young, the Hon. »nd Mrs. Masters, the Hon. C. E. and Mrs. Macmillan, Sir Charles Clifford, Mr. and Mrs. J. Bull, Mr: and Mrs. Thomas Duncan, Mr. and Mrs. O. S. Watkins, Mr. and Mrs. Quentin Donald, Mr. and Mrs. W. Cooper, Mr. and Mrs. F. 0. Hamilton, Mr. and Mrs. Lan Duncan, Mr. Magill, and Mr. Mackay. Mr. C. W. Tringham, vice-president, and Mrs. Tringham (the latter wearing a charming navy bluo and white flowered frock, with, shoulder cape, and blue and white hat), '.also entertained a few friends at-luncheon. Among those present in tho crowded stand wore Lady Roberts (who wore a navy blue ensemble, with navy tarn), Mrs. Lan Duncan (brown coat and skirt, brown hat), Mrs. Elgar (black satin frock, black hat), Mrs. Clay (blue and white crepe de chine,'navy hat), Mrs. C. E. Richardson (blue floral georgette, blue hat), Mrs. Litchfield (yellow and brown silk ensemble, brown hat), Mrs. H. R.
