, LABOUR CANDIDATE FOR STRATFORD . j The national executive of the Labour i Party has endorsed the nomination of Mr. Philip Skoglund as the party's candidate for the Stratford electorate. Mr. Skoglund is Town Clerk of Stratford and president of the New Zealand Institute of Town Clerks.. He ia.also' president of the Taranaki Brass and Pipe Bands' Union, of the Stratford Boxing Association, and of the Stratford Wrestling Association. Mr. Skoglund is a member of the .Stratford Racing Club committee and a life'member of the Taranaki Jtugby~ Union. Among other1 omces Mr. Skoglund has held are the following: Chairman, Stratford School Committee,, president of the Stratford- Club and of'the-' Stratford Bowling Club, and from" 1905 to 1919 honorary secretary' of' the Taranaki Eugby Union. Mr. Skoglund was a -member 'of the committee appointed by the Association to inquire into and report on the question of urban farm lands rating, which resulted in the pawing of the present Act dealing with' the tubject. He was also a member of the committee appointed by the'association to inquire into.and report on the question of the 'incident of local jbodj; taxation. , .
