The show and gymkhana of the Waipukurau Agricultural and Pastoral Association was hold today 'in fine wear'icr and there was a largo attendance. Good entries were received in all sections. '■ 1
Messrs. Prank Orraond, John Wilson, | and A. W. Parsons were th<3 principal prizo winners in the fat sheep and lambs section. The award for the champion hacjs went to Mr. Parsons's Bpcaropa. Master Bruce Bousefield's Tango was the mostl successful of the pony competitors. i Tho axemen's events included the' New Zealand championship sixteen>-| inch standing chop, w.hich was-won by W. Johnston with A. Connelly second nnd M. C. Parker third, The time was f S6sec. Also the £60 open handicap fourlecn-inch standing chop .was held, the winner being- Tarkor (20sec), Connelly (225,0 c) was second, and Johnston' (17sScc) third. Tho winner's time was 'tiOscc.
