The Lawn Tennis Association, at its annual meeting in London on December 8, failed, to show the necessary twothirds majority for a motion to prohibit amateurs from writing for newspapers for payment, the voting being 53 to 47 in favour of the motion. Sir Samuel Hoare was re-elected president. .He declared that the association's relations with professionals had been most cordial.
