The Director of Parks and Reserves (Mr. J. G. MacKenzie) has been having an anxious time lately in view ■of the risk of fire in the areas under his charge. Last week, with two of his sons, he had to make a hurried trip to check a fire which had broken out on the fringe of the Keith George Memorial Park. -Haywards. Assistins him were Mr. N. H. Perham, forestry officer of the Wellington City and Suburban Water Supply Board, and two other men.. Mr. MacKenzie today urged that citizens take every care to protect the city's reserves. ■ • ■ ' .
