CARMAN—DE BIDDER.

A wedding which interested many friends was solemnised at the Johnsonville Methodist Church recently, when Edith Evangeline, elder "daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. G. de Bidder, of Johnsonville, was married to Francis Alton, fourth son of Mr. and Mrs, W. J. Carman, also of Johnsonville. The Bey. J. F. Martin performed the ceremony, which was fully choral, and Mr. Adrian Kodcla presided at the organ. The bride, who entered Iho church with her father, wore a charming gown of Oriental lace, with a short train. Her veil (lent by a friend) was of embroidered net and was worn off her face and lield in place with a wreath

of orange blossom. She carried . a shower bouquet of white roses, sweetpeas, and hothouse flowers. As she came out of the church she was presented with three horseshoes.

The two bridesmaids, Miss Joan do Eidder, sister of the bride (chief) and Miss Meryl Fletcher, wero dressed alike in green lace frocks, with godets of frilled georgette. They wore picture hata of pink straw, trimmed with pink velvet and carried bouquets of pink roses, sweetpeas, and carnations. They also wore the bridegroom's presents, crystal beads and earrings, and a signet ring respectively. Mr. A. H. Carman, brother of the bridegroom, was best man, and Mr. J. A. Mcßride was groomsman.

The church was prettily decorated by friends of the bride, and during the signing of the register, Mr. E. L. Howe sang the solo "O Happy Home."

A reception was held in the Methodist Hall whcrs Mrs. de Bidder received Her guests, wearing a blu' ensemble and a, black hat relieved with blue. She carried a posy of autumn-toned flowers. Mrs. Carman, mother of. the bridegroom, wjre a navy costume and hat to tone and carried a posy of red roses. When Mr. and Mrs. Carman left later by ear for the north, the latter wore a blue ensemble with a blue pedal straw and a fur of natural South America skunk, the gift of the bridegroom. Their future home will bo at Tawa Flat.
