Counsel for Smith said Smith did not make a penny out of the transactions, but was only a "go betueen'' £01 bookmakers and their clients. Henry William Pullen and Thomas Victor Tuohy pleaded not guilty to similar charges and were remanded for eight days. Bail in £100 and one MTrety of £100 was allowed Puilcn was stid to ha\e been opcr ating in a building in Colombo Street, and Tuohy in the bar of a hotel.
