SIR C. KINGSFORD SMITH SAN FBANCISCO, November 17.' Sir Charles Kingsford Smith, who has been harassed by autograph hunters and multitudes of admirers since he landed a fortnight ago, today locked himself in.his hotel suite, and sent out word by his manager, Mr. H. S. W. Stannagc, that his nerves were ragged and that he was determined to get some rest. "Sir Charles must havo rest and quiet. If need be I'll take him away to some remote spot in the hills. He has been pestered no end, and he is tired of it all," Mr. Stannage said.
