PETONE TECHNICAL COLLEGE
The monthly meeting of the Board of Manageis of the Petone Memorial Technical College was held yesterday. The chairman (Mr. W. B. Nicholson) welcomed Mr. James Stonehouse as a representative of the Wellington Education Board, mentioning his previous service in the cause of education.
The Department of Education advised that a grant of £478 had been made to the school for machinery for the electrical, general engineering, and motor engineering departments. Arrangements were made for the doting ceremony of the school year to take place on December 14, when the speaker will be Mr. W. Nash, M.P. The report of the principal records thanks to Messrs. Bonthorne and Corser, and the Union Clothing Co. of Petone,, Messis. Edmeades and Macaskill, and Caiey'e, of Lower Hutt, and Messrs. Hazelwood and Co., of Upper Hutt, for the use of shop windows for displays of the work of pupils, and to Mr. P. Robertson for the free cartage of goods to Upper Hutt,
