THEFT BY ACCOUNTANT
TERM OF IMPRISONMENT
JUDGE'S COMMENT
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
AUCKLAND, This Day
A sentence of two years' reformative detention • was passed on l>ancis Joseph Cramp by Mr. Justice Herdman in the Supreme Court today. Cramp, while accountant of the Central Waikato Power BoaTd, stole £716.
His counsel said that he was a married man with three young children and any punishment imposed would cause most suffering to his wife and family.
The Judge said that that always happened. He always felt sorry for the1 dependants of offenders, but that could not be considered in inflicting punish-' ment. Crnmp had been in a position of trust, his wage was £7 per week, and he had been receiving from £130 to £200 yearly from his mother.
