MELBOUBNE, November 9
A programme of many contrasts was •carried out by the Duke of Gloucester today. Beginning with an addie.ss to cadets at the Flinders naval depot, the Duko visited tho Commercal Tiavelleis' Club and had conferied upon him the honour of a /'knighthood of the road.''
His next visit was to the conference of the Empire Service League, where he was welcomed by men fiom all coi-j ncis of the Empiic, to whom ho,convoyed greetings fiom the Piince of Wales, whoso message said: "No paif of my torn 0±,1920 bungs btwk such; happy memo Ties as the meetings with .service men in Australia and New Zealand." His next engagement was the polo matches at the Mooneo Valley racecouisc, where he had luncheon with the officials. The Duke watched the games for four hours, returning to attend the State Government's garden party and later a brilliant inaugural dinner for the new Lord Mayor, Alderman A. G. Wales. ,
