DEMAND FOR STORE CATTLE

There was a splendid sale'throughout, with' practically no passings. Store cattle of:all classes advanced ,5s to 7s 6d a-head over, the .prices. of a fortnight ago, both P.A.- and Herefords finding a ready market. The stock purchased was well distributed, though lines ready. for fattening were secured by local farmers who have an abundance of; feed just now. A particularly good demand existed for P.A. cattle, both male x and female selling well, while- Herefords also ■ were in keen demand.: The highest; price . for Hereford males was £5 19s for very good bullocks and for females* £4 for three-year-old heifers/ The highest for P.A. was £5 19s for, bullocks and for females £4 15s for three-year heifers. The ox beef offered :was on the .rough side; and all beasts, offered were dairy breeds. Best heifer beef made to ?2s per 1001b.
