TRUNK CASE MURDER NO. 1
AN INSPECTOR RETIRES
LONDON, October 30.
Chief-Inspector Bowden, who was concerned with the investigation of the trunk case murder No. 1, retired today, He says that the identity of the_ murderer is'known, but there is insufficient evidence for aii ' arrest. Chief-Inspector Bowden told the "Daily Mail" that although the facta definitely point to a Londoner; whose car was seen at Brighton the day the trunk was deposited at the station, the identity of the victim, the'locality of the crime,' and even the' manner of death, have not been discovered.
.A cable message datett June 19 Stated that a cheap brown fibre trunk left at Brighton' Station, when opened by railway dffieials, contained a female body lacking head and iiiiibSi Later a suitcase found at King's Cross Station contained a woman's head and feet,: believed to belong to the sama person. The Brighton trunk; was deposited oli June 6 and: the King's Cross suitcase on June 7.
