"STRIKE ME LUCKY"
Coming to Regent Theatre,
Funny as was the popular Australian comedian "Mo" (Roy Rene) on the stage, it is said that he exceeds all laughter standards with his work in "Strike Me Lucky," a new . Cinesound musical comedy which will have its world premiere at the Regent Theatre-tomorrow. The script of "Strike Me Lucky" was naturally written with the paramount idea of providing "Mo" with every opportunity of Tevealing his inimitable comedy talents, and the famous Yiddish funster goes through a series nl screamingly funny situations. When the story opens, "Mo" is "broke." But one day he decides to get himself a job, and when a "handy man wanted" sign' outside Papa Lowenstein'a pawnshop catches his eye Mo immediately decides that he is a handy man. When Mr. Lowenstein is endeavouring, to' sell., a customer a suit against his better judgment. Mo makes the sale at twice the amount Lowenstein was asking. Vot a salesman! Naturally he gets the job. But Mo's run of "outs still pursues him. and the very next day he burns the seat out of a pair of pants and is "out" again. Selling- vacuum cleaners is his next job—for a while—out again. He then joins the firm of Cleesome ami Joy. undertakers. Undoubtedly Mo is versatile, for when he accompanies June East to a den of gangsters, the toughest lot of fellows in existence, he proves himself jo be just as tough as any of them, and is ■screamingly, funny as well.
