1 It has been estimated that if the present rate of increase continues the world will have no fewer than 6,000,000,000 people to feed,' clothe, and house by (ho year 2100—less than 170 years in 'the future. The number mentioned is regarded as about as many as the old earth can comfortably j cater for, unlcs its soil is taught to yield more bountiful crops than it does at present. Today the total world population is only about 1,000,000,000.
